A match on one hundred boards between Estonia and Latvia was held on the 24th of April in the Estonian city of Pärnu (actually near it in Paikuse). This event has a history of almost 30 years; the first such a match was held back in 1976. Since then nine more matches were fought out, but which nation is the strongest is yet to be determined.
